authored.com.au is run by Campbell Jensen, trading as authored. (ABN 85 745 873 010), Melbourne, Australia. This page explains what this site collects, what I do with it, and the choices you have.
What this site collects
Very little. There are no accounts, no cart and no payments on authored.com.au, and no advertising cookies at all. The information I get is what you choose to send through one of the two forms on the Information page.
- Start a conversation. Your name, email, phone (optional), brand or company, your role and website (optional), the project type, location, timing, budget range (optional), whether it is a one-off or ongoing, anything else the project needs, the project details, and how you heard about authored.
- Join the agency. Your name, email, phone (optional), discipline, where you are based, a portfolio or Instagram link, rates and availability (optional), a little about you, and a portfolio or CV if you choose to attach one.
Both forms are delivered by Netlify, the service that hosts this site, and land in a form inbox that only I can see. You can also reach me by email or phone instead, using your own email program or your own phone.
Cookies and analytics
The site shows a cookie notice once. A small note in your browser remembers whether you accepted or declined it. Nothing is sent to me from that and it is not used to track you.
If you accept, Google Analytics cookies are set. They tell me how many people visit, which pages are opened, roughly which country visitors are in, and how they found the site. Google processes that data on my behalf and I have IP anonymisation switched on. I do not use it to build a profile of you. Decline and no analytics cookies are set; your choice is the only thing kept.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
Enquiries and commissions
When you start a conversation, email or call about a project, I use what you tell me to reply, to scope and quote the work and, if we go ahead, to deliver it. Briefs, quotes, contracts, invoices and the correspondence around a job are kept for as long as I need them to complete the work and to meet Australian record-keeping rules, then deleted. The terms for a commission itself are set out in the written quote or agreement for that job, not on this page.
I do not sell, rent or trade your information, and I do not add enquiries to any mailing list.
Introductions to the agency
If you introduce yourself through the Join the agency form, I use what you send to consider you for projects and to get in touch when the right one comes up. Introductions are kept on file while authored. is taking on work so that I can come back to them. Ask me and I will delete yours sooner.
Who else sees it
- Netlify hosts this site and delivers the two forms.
- Google, through Google Analytics, only if you accept the cookie notice. The site's type is served from this site, not from Google Fonts.
- My email provider, when we correspond.
- Collaborators on a job, such as a videographer, stylist, producer or retoucher, who get only what they need to do their part of the work.
Hosting and logs
Like most websites, the server that delivers these pages may keep standard technical logs, including IP address, browser type and pages requested. These keep the site running and secure and are not used to build a profile of you.
How long I keep it
Enquiries and the correspondence around them stay for as long as I need them to deal with what you asked and to meet record-keeping rules, then they are deleted. Introductions to the agency stay while authored. is taking on work.
Your choices
You can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email campbell@authored.com.au and I will reply as soon as I can.
If you are in the UK or the European Union, the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR give you the same rights, along with the right to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. My lawful basis for analytics is your consent; for handling an enquiry or a commission it is the steps needed to enter into and carry out that work; for an introduction to the agency it is my legitimate interest in building the team and replying to you.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, tell me first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
